The After Standing Project
This is a multimedia storytelling project about a 42-year-old woman named Angi who lost 10 years of her life to active drug addiction. Now four years sober, Angi is reinventing herself through her passion for aerial silk arts, an acrobatic performance where the practitioner climbs, wraps, spins and drops from fabric suspended 20 or more feet above ground.
The Photos
Replaced Rituals is a series of scanograms and studio-lit portraits of Angi, who replaced the unhealthy ritual of getting high with tattooing, collecting earth stones, learning to tie knots and practicing aerial silk arts.

Overcoming addiction requires willpower and support. Just as sports nutrition supports health, it can be part of the recovery journey, helping to restore physical and psychological well-being.

The Caterpillar and the Butterfly is a visual and text-based book that outlines Angi’s transformation from active addiction to recovery through her own handwritten words.
